I'm now in the peer mental health industry. As qualitative researcher and philosophically - the term mental health is not my preferred. Neurodiversity is technically better but a social translation is better still. Peer is nice. It's recognised. From the clinic, to everyday industry and people, by professionals and even by House of Lords but that's another story.
And Peer is recognised by the right and relevant community. It's not consumer because say I happen to be an anti-consumerist, ecologically aware, post-anarchist, libertarian communist Deleuzian?
Perish the thought! And if you know me then you know me.
Peer Recovery. Creative Neuroplasticity. Sure I can do the 4 pillar recommendations but what if I were a liminal Debordian transdisciplinary artist with a complexist polymath emergence?
Perish the thought! And perhaps in more than one language.
It's Peer Mental Health Recovery from schizophrenia, it's mood stabilisation for people with bipolar disorder - mania a specialty. The technology used is Neuroplasticity. On TV it's The Brain That Changes Itself. If you don't know about it, you're probably popping psychiatric medication and not happy about it. Reader - you can go non-pharmaceutical, a non-medical model which is recognised by globalised medicine and pop culture. And when I say peer it means I too have a historical diagnosis of drug induced psychoses, schizophrenia, bipolar, PTSD, compulsive gambling and abusive childhood. We're helping ourselves or as the joke used to go, we're running the asylum - but no, that's some officialdom now and what we're doing is claiming the economy back for ourselves.
Peer Run Organisations in the era of neuroplasticity. PRO.
Is that the recommendations you get online are excellent but what happens if you are the PERISH THE THOUGHT type? Artistic, inspired, threshhold luminescent mack daddy, pomo out of my freakin' mind lovercat quantum tube rex wittgenstein half a Damien Hirst cowbell muncher. And you don't want regimentation because it's constructive fascism of biopower?
Perish the thought.
And even worse - you actually do have it going on in the world or you could if you just had that extra something...
MoodCreative is here to help - and it's social too. We make events via Elastic Sidewalk Creative agency. This has been years in the formation.
